The Elk Barn Inn & Guest Ranch is located near Heron Montana in the beautiful Elk Creek drainage of the Clark Fork River Valley amid the Cabinet Mountains. The property has easy year around access off a well maintained county road.

Close proximity to The Cabinet Mountains Wilderness Area and national forest lands offer excellent opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Hike, bike, swim, boat, fish, ATV, snowmobile, cross-country ski, snowshoe etc. Motor boat access is nearby on the Clark Fork River, Lake Pend Oreille or Bull Lake.

For those who simply want to relax in a peaceful country setting, you will find many spots to unwind at the Ranch.

The west and east forks of Elk Creek converge on the south east corner of the ranch, while the main branch of the creek meanders through the entire property. This spring fed mountain stream runs year around. Guests enjoy fishing, wading and playing in the pristine mountain waters along the creek banks. There is a 3 acre pond on property with kayaks, peddle boats & paddle board for guest use. The "Bird Sanctuary" foot path borders the east fork of Elk Creek - a nice walking trail to view song birds and ducks native to the area. Ranch activities such as horseback trail rides are available as well.
